Hand dyed Fire Star Trilobal nylon tops; great for felting, spinning and blending.

Trilobal nylon has a cross-section shape with three distinct sides. The shape is advantageous for optical reflective properties and is used in textile fibres. For example: Silk fibers' rounded edges and triangular cross section contribute to their luster; in the case of Fire Star, a synthetic, manmade fibre, they are manufactured to mimic this trilobal shape to give them a silk-like and super lustrous appearance.  Fire Star can be added to any other fibre you can think of, creating extra strength, but also a huge luster and shine.

Fire Star is great for felting too. It creates a magical texture and shine in wet felting and needle felting.

You can spin Fire Star on its own too!

If you want to blend Fire Star with other fibres you will not need much to make an impact: just blend about 5%-10% and It will create a fibre blend that is excellent for socks because of the added strength and bling!
